We all want to look our best when we can. There’s nothing worse than catching sight of yourself in the mirror and just thinking “ugh”. But looking good can end up costing a small fortune if you’re not careful. But it is possible to keep yourself looking good on a budget.
When you’re watching the pennies and rushing around, it can be easy to let your own needs fall to the wayside. But it’s so important to make time for yourself, and it doesn’t need to cost much money either.
Top tips for looking good on a budget
Drink plenty of water
Water is vital for keeping your skin hydrated and your hair looking great. Try to drink 6-8 glasses of water every day, it really does make a difference to your overall appearance.
Cleanse thoroughly at night
It’s so tempting to just wipe off the day’s makeup with a baby wipe and crawl into bed after a busy day. But that’s so bad for your skin! Make a little extra effort, wash your skin thoroughly and use an overnight cream to re-hydrate whilst you sleep.
Eat a diet rich in fruit and veg
A poor diet equals poor skin. It’s that simple. Make sure you eat a healthy, balanced diet with a range of fruit and veg.
Makeup and skin care products don’t need to be expensive. You can find some really great deals online when you shop around.
Use natural light
When you’re getting ready to go out, it’s tempting to use bright lights, but natural lighting is far better. Your makeup will look very different under artificial light than it will outside in the natural daylight, so if you’re not careful, you could end up with an orange glow – definitely not a good look!
Buy reusable products
There’s a great deal of focus these days on using products that don’t harm the environment, and that’s so important! An added benefit of reusable products is that they tend to be friendlier to your bank balance too. Whilst the initial cost may be more, over time you will generally save money by using reusable products!
So if you’re trying to look good on a tight budget, then don’t despair! There are plenty of tricks you can take advantage of to keep yourself looking good without spending a fortune. Do you have any top tips for looking good on a budget?
